Two years ago, french citizens voted "No" to the referendum about european constitution but europe administration pressed our parliament to adopt it with Lisbon Treaty.

In the opinion of the majority of french citizens, it's not the democracy and it's a destruction of our civil rights.

I give this information because Irish people will vote for the treaty wich will destroy they constitution.

Be carefull and read very precisely the text, it's so important.

If you don't understand because it's very complicated, it's a trap.

Be carefull and keep your mind.

In my opinion it's a huge mistake to impose a constitution without agreement of citizens, in France we said "No",

a very bright "No" (55%)

  1. what did you expect from the undemocratic eu?.

  2. It's not an issue about civil law, it's more of a legal constitutional issue. This is why various political persons are trying to gain a judicial review against the government on the grounds that it is acting unconstitutionally and illegally (ultra vires).  Governments have to have accountability to be effective, but the major issue consists of the organization of the EU having at times little accountability to the UK when its laws when in conflict with Member States. People feel the increasing power of the EU over UK national law is incredibly unconstitutional and goes against our tradition of Parliamentary sovereignty. Personally I would have to agree with these claims as the current New Labour government knows they will not pass any further intergration of UK powers to the EU via a referendum, although to be honest I don't think New Labour have ever cared about us.

  3. Well what do you expect from Europe? They are degrading into socialism everyday.

  4. I think the fact that only Ireland is having a referendum says a lot. It does not matter how many times you read the text it is nearly impossible to understand , I believe this is very deliberate. The Lisbon Treaty is really a ' European Constitution ' in disguise. In Ireland at the moment it is still pretty close between the yes and no campaigns.

It will be interesting to see what way it goes.

  5. EU is democratic just like URSS !

  6. And the French also said "non" when Ireland and the UK wanted to join what was then the Common Market.  The French say "non" to everything.  If the question had been worded differently (Do you want to reject the European constitution?) we'd have a strong Europe now.
