European driving license valid in USA?

If i have European driving license is it valid for USA at least temporary, i heard people were driving in US with European driving licenses, can someone tell me with link to source of info please since i don't want to explain cop that someone on yahoo told me its allowed. :)

Same question, but with temporary driving license from Europe will it work?

Yes, your EU license is valid in the US for up to one year upon arrival. Carry your passport as well.
