500 years+ ago before Italy started accepting immigration from other European countries, did all Italians have dark hair, and dark eyes? Because it seems that dark hair/eyes is very prevalent around Italy but there are some people that do have lighter hair and light eyes. I have heard the light hair and light eyes comes from Germanic admixture.

And a long time ago did all Germans have blonde hair and blue eyes then foreign admixture started causing the prevalence of brown and red hair?

And did the original Latin people all have dark hair and dark eyes or did they have a variety of hair and eye colors like today?

italy first of all was founded in 1861

the territories where is located italy were invaded and colonised by barbarians, and northern europe populations (as germans, Vikings called normans in italy, celts, gauls) thousands years ago, not only 500 years ago

we italians are a mixture of hundreds ethniticies that came here to live in the course of centuries

The blonde hair and blue eyes does come from the Germanic culture but is actually closer to being a 2,000 yr old influence. The blonde hair and blue eyes actually come from the Lombards who were a Germanic tribe that invaded Italy after the fall of Rome.
