Question:

European voltage converters?

I was going to take a trip to europe and I needed to get a voltage converter. Are all countries in the EU on the same voltage. I would be in Poland, The Czech Rep., Germany, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, and France. I have the standard United States two pronged plug for all of my appliances. Is there one converter that will work in all of these countries?

  1. I have been to all these countries, and they all use the two-plug type of plug that they use in Europe. I am a Dutch citizen myself, and I've been staying in Canada over the past 6 months.

What I would advice you to do, is to buy a converter for all types of plugs. These will cost you about 20 bucks, and you can use them for the rest of your life. You can read more about this on my useful travel tools page:

    Hope this helps!

  2. All countries have the same voltage (230 volts), but you may need this universal plug system in addition to the power converter from 110 to 230 volts, since there are different plugs some of the countries you plan to visit.
