Europeans want America to become more socialist?

Why do Europeans want America to become as socialist as their countries. I've had a debate with a European and it seems like he wants America to become like Europe. I like the way our country is. But my question is why do they wanna push it upon us? Do they want us to pay high taxes too, so that they're not the only ones that suffer?

I like the current system because I get to keep more of my money that I worked for, I don't feel like giving free hand outs to the poor. I'm ok if some people have to suffer from poverty, because at the end of the day it comes down to my wallet or them I'm going to pick my wallet.

  1. Thats an accurate assessment.

  2. If you look at people in "socialist" countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, etc, they are ... happy! Sure, they don't have tons of super-rich, but there is no stress, excellent education, healthcare, infrastructure... wherever you look. Even economically they have higher average incomes than the US and faster growing economies.

Pure capitalism as well as pure socialism are proven to fail. What's needed is a balance. Certain expenses like healthcare, infrastructure, edication, etc, when shared, bring benefit to everybody and actually propell economic growth by SAVING money in the long run.

  3. You are found to be selfish and self centered! Socialist measure is to ensure more equitable wealth distribution to all and if the Government is sincere in doing its job, they will land up in Socialism only and it's good for all Americans! The greatest thing would be to prove that achieving SOCIALISM WITH NO WORKERS REVOLUTION  is possible, so the world again can follow AMERICA!

  4. Don't draw conclusions from one person you know.

More of a consensus is that we don't want to be as closely linked with America, as we are, in Britain at least we feel a bit like an aircraft carrier for the US.

As there is little chance of America having an understanding of socialism, as preached by Jesus, then I doubt many intelligent people think that it's worth arguing about.

There is not any longer a socialist party in Britain since Tony Bliar hijacked and conned the British electorate.

May God forgive you, as well.

  5. A strange thing that happens in my country, Canada, is that the public gets outraged after major tax cuts, because we are worried what the repercussions are. But more taxes and left policies could make you happier. What is your insurance coverage? Will it cover you when you need it or how much does it cost? I don't worry bout either. If I get ill, I have accesses to free medical care paid for by slightly higher taxes. The only draw back of these programs, is that you can't fight imperialistic wars. In theory your taxes should be much, much higher than mine because America is so far in debt. The way you have payed for your wars is with loans which also cost interest. One day you will HAVE to pay it back and then your taxes will spike.

  6. Not all Europeans want America to become more socialist. France, Germany and Italy recently elected Sarkozy, Merkel and Berlusconi, who are conservatives. The new mayor of London, Boris Johnson is also a conservative.

  7. There's a Globalization mentality that demands uniformity among all Nations and does away with individual National Heritage and Identity.

Instead of learning from Americas success, many Nations expect us to digress to their level.

  8. Then don't vote democrat!!!
