Eurorail pass - buy in US or abroad?

I'm going to visit friends in Germany in 3 weeks. And I need to get a Eurorail pass. Should I buy the pass before I leave or should I wait til I get there. My friend told me to get the Regional 5 day - Germany to Czech Republic pass.

How long does it take for a pass to be shipped to me if I buy it in the states?

It's for north Americans.You can buy it online or at the turist agency.

I don't think it's even possible to buy them in Europe.  I just drove to a travel agent store in the city I lived in at the time (Indianapolis) and bought it from them.
