Eurystheus expected to win Hazel Wigley Memorial Stakes (Handicap)
Eurystheus has a solid chance of winning the Hazel Wigley Memorial Stakes (Handicap) at Goodwood in England on Thursday, May 24, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will be awarded a cash prize of £4,669.
The going will be good to firm in the 1 mile 1 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT. A total of 15 runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Beaufort Twelve, Right Divine, Jupiter Storm, Attenborough, Eurystheus, California
English, Silver Lime, Paloma´s Prince, Goodwood Atlantis, Masters Blazing, Hidden Justice, Serene Oasis, Dance With Me, Mr Churchill and Titus Star.
Although the competition will be strong in the race, Eurystheus is carrying very good momentum at the moment and will be a top contender for victory. He does not have much experience, but has improved a lot since making debut.
The three-year-old colt has taken part in three events until now, winning one of them. He was unable to make a big impression on his debut, finishing 10th in it. However, he went onto make an improvement and ended up fourth in his next outing.
The Richard Hannon’s trainee carried on with the positive momentum and managed to win his most recent race, which shows that he is in terrific form. He was not rated favourite back then, but stunned one and all with his racing skills.
A similar run will definitely ensure another victory for Eurystheus, who will be partnered by Richard Hughes in the race. The veteran jockey has enjoyed a lot of success in his career, winning numerous events and will be looking forward to another solid
run at Goodwood today.
Attenborough will not make life easy for his rivals, as he has got a decent record in the sport. He has participated in just a couple of events, winning one of them. However, he was unable to deliver a strong show last time around, finishing ninth at Doncaster.
Considering his most recent run, the punters might not risk a lot of bets in favour of the Jeremy Noseda’s trainee. However, he has the tools to deliver a winning run today. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Ryan Moore.
