Euxton Hall to take charge of the Audi Richmond Stakes (Colts & Geldings)
The Group 2 Audi Richmond Stakes (Colts & Geldings) has registered eight two-year-old runners for the six furlong race on Thursday, 2nd August at Goodwood. The prize money set for the winner of the race is £39,697. The 16 to 1 entry, Euxton Hall, has been successful twice over good and good to soft ground conditions.
Acclamation’s two-year-old bay colt won the Buckley’s Silver Wedding Anniversary Maiden Stakes on 12th May, 2012 at Haydock over six furlongs. The Richard Fahey trained led for only a furlong which was invaded over by the leader, but recomposed the lead two furlong out. Pushing harder along the leader over the last furlong out made him conclude the race by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
Annunciation qualified as the runner-up and was soon joined by, Luhaif.
The Irish bay colt made the most out of the very first chance to clear the maiden and got entered in a listed race as his next stop. He finished fourth in the Investec Woodcote Stakes (Listed Race) on 2nd June, 2012 at Epsom over six furlongs.
The race was won by, Chilworth Icon, who escaped defeat by the margin of a short head and set, Heavy Metal, as the runner-up.
The David W Armstrong owned won the third outing of the season. On 2nd July, 2012, he won the Spindrifter Conditions Stakes at Pontefract over six furlongs.
The two-year-old bred by B. Scholer, ran in towards the rails, led until there remained the last two furlongs to race over. He shared the final furlong with the reeling in rival, Royal Rascal, and won by the highly slight margin of ¾ of a length.
Top Notch Tonto slid into the third spot behind the winner.
The most recent try of the Irish bay colt was in the Rose Bowl Stakes – Sponsored By Compton Beauchamp Estates LTD (Listed Race) on 13th July, 2012 at Newbury over six furlongs.
The race was won by, Master Of War as Boomshackerlacker slipped through the wire right behind the winner and Euxton Hall finished fourth.
He will be guided through the track by jockey, Paul Hanagan, and the two will break from the eighth gate.
