Eva Heyert acquires Girls 100yard freestyle title – High School State Championships, San Francisco
Eva Heyert of LOW acquired gold medal of the Girls 100yard freestyle in the Junior category at the 2012 High School State Championships in San Francisco, California on Tuesday, May 1.
Heyert remained considerably faster from her fellow swimmers throughout the 100yard event. With her powerful strokes and utter determination, she outsmarted her challengers on the finishing end for gold medal.
She stayed almost two body lengths ahead of her competitors throughout the event and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 04.01 seconds.
She was followed by her team-member, Courtney Lam, who stayed 1.70 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end for silver medal with the timing of 1 minute and 05.71 seconds.
Lam was trailed by her team-member, Carolyn Yao, who suffered a deficit of 1.15 seconds and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 06.86 seconds.
Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Allison Szeto of BAL, who was nearly two seconds behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 08.67 seconds for fourth position.
Similarly, Sara Tran proved her eligibility for fifth fastest spot of the event as she remained almost 0.80 seconds away and clocked a time of 1 minute and 09.44 seconds.
Moments later, Dylan Tang of LINC dominated the playoff of equivalent event in Boys category. Tang stayed in a remarkable lead over his challengers as he hit the wall with an effort of 55.21 seconds.
Tang was followed by George Freedland of LOW, who stayed 3.05 seconds apart and earned silver medal of the event with the timing of 58.26 seconds.
Freedland was followed by his teammate, Horace Kwan, who was just 0.20 seconds away and tapped the wall with an effort of 58.46 seconds for bronze medal of the event.
The third position holder was trailed by Winston Li of LINC, who finished his swim in fourth best place of the event by clocking a time of 1 minute and 00.25 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all scheduled events while the position holders received medals after the session.
