Speed can also be affected by weather conditions and road surfaces, such as is it a straight expressway or a curvy mountain road. Driver familiarity with the route traveled--does he know where he is going? Does he know which exit to take? Is the destination in a neighborhood that has narrow residential streets with cars parked on either side of the street?
