  1. 32 - 24/n when n=6

Substitute the 6 for the n in the equation and you get

    32 - 24/6 =

    32 - 4 = 18

    6 + x^3 when x=1/2

Do the same thing.  Substitute the 1/2 for the x and work it out.

    6 + (1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2) =

    6 + 1/8 = 6-1/8

    See the process?

    Hope this helps.  :)

P.S. the PEMDAS principle can also be remembered as "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally."  I learned that one in high school.  :)

  2. You are not listening to your teacher in class and now you don't know how to do it.........just check with your pals in class.....one of them will know........just pay with an ice-cream.

  3. 32-24/n n=6

    8/6 or 4/3

    6+x^3 x=1/2

    6+1/8

  4. use the PEMDAS method. Parenthasis first, Exponents second, Multiplication third, Division fourth, Addition fifth, and Subtraction last.

32-24/n when n=6: replace n with 6 so you have 32-24/6 since there isn't any Parenthasis, Exponents, or multiplication you skip those and go to Division which in this problem is 24/6. Divide 24 by 6 and once you get that answer subtract it from the 32. So in the end you should have the answer to: 32- (whatever 24 divided by 6 is)...I wont give you the answer...

6+xcubed when x=1/2: I'm not so sure about this one b/c fractions always confuse me so you may want to check with someone about it but I think it's done this way...

Since x is 1/2 it would mean that the expression is 6+ 1/2cubed. Since mulitplication comes before addition in the PEMDAS thing then you would do 1/2cubed first 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 and then once you get the answer to that you'd have 6+ (whatever the 1/2 cubed is)
