  1. plug in 9 for s and you get 9 - 9/3 - (9)^1/2 which is 9 - 3 - 3 = 3


  2. limit -> 9  (9 - s) / (3 - s^1/2)

    limit -> 9  (9 - s)(3 + s^1/2) / (3 - s^1/2)(3 + s^1/2)

    limit -> 9  (9 - s)(3 + s^1/2) / (9 - s)

    limit -> 9  (3 + s^1/2) = 3 + 9^1/2 = 6
