Evan Speechly praises England team management – Cricket News Update
Evan Speechly, the assistant coach and physiotherapist of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, praised the England team for their fitness programme, claiming they will always remain ahead of other cricketing nations due to their superior management.
The South African, who is contracted with the Indian Premier League franchise, revealed that the ECB ensures that they keep in touch with every physio under whom their players perform, and guide us regarding every previous injury sustained by any of their
stars.
Talking of his tenure in the IPL, where he looks after a host of stars from different nations competing in the same team, the likes of Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DL-Vettori-c1384 (all play or played for RCB), he claimed that only the
ECB takes and gives constant feed back over their players.
“If English cricketers come to my team — like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 — their physio or doctor will get hold of me, they’ll tell me where the players’ shortcomings are and what exercises we need to do to ensure they don’t break down,” said Speechly.
He remained critical of the BCCI and South African Cricket board, feeling that they keep no contact any of the IPL franchises, which then creates a bit of a problem when the players go back to perform with their respective national team.
“I haven't heard a word from the BCCI about http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, I don't know anything about him," he said.
The recently concluded tour of England was a wakeup call for the BCCI, where nine major players got injured, leading  them to come home winless.
With the Indians and Poms being the two most active nations in the Future Tours Programme, it remains to be seen whether BCCI follows a strict regime to ensure their players stay fit.
