Evan Turner leads as Philadelphia 76ers drop Charlotte Bobcats 104-98: NBA Recap
Evan Turner gathered 25 points as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 104-98, for their third consecutive win.
Jason Richardson scored 14 of his season-high 22 points in the final period; Lavoy Allen posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Thaddeus Young scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Jrue Holiday was hot again
as he finished off with 13 points and 15 assists for the night.
Six Bobcats made it in the double scoring figures on Friday night. Ben Gordon led the pack with 19 points and 5 assists, Jeff Taylor had 16 points while Bismack Biyombo came off the bench to score 14 points and haul down 7 rebounds
for the home side.
"I was just being aggressive out there. We were struggling a little bit in the fourth and when Evan came out of the game I knew I had to pick up my offense and help the team win. We're really sharing the ball right now and finding
the open man."  Sixers’ guard Richardson on his team’s passing ability.
Thaddeus Young made three back to back deuces early in the first period to put the Sixers up 16-9. The Bobcats replied by scoring two quick three pointers to make it 17-18, and a Jeff Taylor dunk shot moments later put them up
21-18. But the Phillies finished the period strongly and were leading 27-25 as they went into the second quarter.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made a jumper early in the second period to make it 30-32 for the Bobcats. For a few minutes, it was neck and neck between both teams and the score getting all square quite a number of times. It was tied
on 39 and again on 44 before the Phillies once again closed the quarter on a high, setting up a 54-50 advantage by halftime.
Charlotte kept the Sixers in check early in the third period and it was 56-58 for the Bobcats about 2 minutes into the quarter. But the Sixers meant business and started pulling ahead, a quick 6-0 run pushed their advantage to
72-62, their highest lead of the game. The Bobcats responded with a 7-0 run to make it a 3 point game on 69-72. Phillies were up 76-70 late in the quarter before the Bobcats reduced the deficit down to 3 by the end of the period.
Ramon Sessions tied the score on 81 early in the fourth period with a layup. Bismack Biyombo made a dunk to make it a two point game on 87-89 for the Bobcats, before the Phillies went for a 6-0 run to go up 95-87. The Sixers kept
their cool and closed the game comfortably.
