Evaporated milk in mac and cheese?

Have any of you ever used evaporated milk in your homemade mac and cheese? I was wondering if it made a difference rather than milk?

  1. Absolutely will definitely make it creamier and thicker...anything to make mac and cheese even more delicious...go for it!!!!!

  2. i dont see why not it all depends tho

    some people dont even use milk some just use alot of butter or margerine.

  3. Yes it's the only milk I use in my homemade mac and cheese.  It is thicker and richer even if you use the fat free kind it's still better than skim milk because the water has been evaporated.

  4. i have. it's creamier and thicker. it's pretty good!

  5. I have used it in a pinch, cutting it a bit with water.

    I never noticed any difference in taste or texture.

  6. I dont know why but anything that calls for milk taste better when you use evaporated milk in it. so yes you can use it and it will probly be better then if you just used regular milk
