Evaporation Line question?

Is it possible to get an evaporation line on a HPT BEFORE the time is up, or is it only an evaporation line if the time frame for the test is over?

And do evaporation lines have colour in them or are they definitely grey oor something?

  1. my understanding is that they are usually greyish but aaahhh frustrating huh? go get a digital test, eliminate the question all together!

  2. i wanna know too, actually  cuz i got one before the time was up too and im like wtf? and it was blue, not gray...

  3. thats what happen to me too, i took a hpt and i read it in 15 min, it was half blue and half gray,so my understanding i thought it was an evaporation line and i ignored it cause it didnt show on time ...a week later i had a high fever ,thought i had the flu and to add that i didnt have any s*x since my last hpt..i went to my doctor and indeed i was pregnant..when i did my first hpt i was 10 dpo..so you never know every women is different ,most women has strong HCG and some has very low one..good luck baby dust..

  4. You will only get an evaporation line if you waited past like 10 minutes. If you looked at it right away, more than likely no matter how faint the line is, it is a positive result. I would take another test tomorrow morning just to be sure but a false positive is extremely rare. So at this point, I would say congratulations mommy:)

According to this evap lines can show up when the test gets wet, as it dries, or after is dries.  They may appear colorless or grey. Or if a colored line appears after the test time limit it should be considered an evap line.
