Even if global warming is true. What does it matter?

I mean everyone in the world hates each other anyway. Everything is screwed up. We are all going to die and everybody after us is. So what the h**l does it matter?

For me, I hardly ever leave California because there are so many interesting and gorgeous places to visit.  I like the people here.  Most of them don't hate each other.  Soon Bush will be out of office and most of the countries that can't stand us will start acting friendly again.

In a way I want to say you are wrong, but the more I think about it, you are right.  People don't help their fellow man anymore, and violence is rampant.  Nobody wants to do anything to better the environment, a lot of talk and no movement.

Believe it or not virtue does exist in the world. We, the planet and it's other inhabitants are worth saving.

In reality it is the greed of a few who are doing the most damage. Simple changes in governmental policies can have sweeping transformational effects.

I believe this is but one battle ground issue in an epic fight between good and evil. I chose to fight on the side of what is right and not to give up hope by despairing.

It is true and as a citizen of the world it is each of our responsibility to try and leave a world behind for our children

As screwed up as today might be, it doesn't mean we don't look to tomorrow and think of a better future for our children. Or the prosperity of our race. We look to fixing the right we've done wrong and there isn't anything bad about that.

Global warming will not result in the Earth bursting into flames or anything.  It is just like turning your thermostat up in your house a degree or 2.  The problem is the response of the environment.  Will it change in a way that helps humans thrive or make life harder, exacerbating the problems.

Climate is going to get warmer even if we stop all CO2 emissions (which is impossible).  Slowing emissions gives the environment time to adjust as well as humans.  Hopefully the warming will be good for the environment, but we need to take it slow enough to respond if it is not.
