  1. What about the bees, man... where the heck are all the bees!?!?!?!

  2. because the earth is very slowing getting hotter. soon it will be to hot for some plant and animals to live.

  3. There is such a thing as adaptation, however for some plants and animals it takes many years to adapt. (Notice from the ice age not many animals and plants have survived because the weather conditions were to drastic for life to adapt within the timeframe.) Too much heat in some areas may cause draught leading to desert-like conditions. Flooding will be seen in coastal areas-you can't expect humans to grow fins and start swimming. Heat waves will be prevallant as will mudslides, and huricanes-and those disasters people and animals cannot adapt to. There is a few excellant pieces on Youtube by the National Geographic (2 degrees, 3 degrees, and 4 degrees - what it means on a global scale).

  4. not that quick!

it takes hundred of years! mabey thousand!

only the partly domesticated animals will adapt faster

    raccoons,pigeons, u get it...

  5. Plants and animals evolve to suit their environment. This takes hundreds of thousands of years to millions of years. You really need to do yourself a favor and take a biology class.

  6. GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL.

    it's happening right now.

You should watch "An Inconvient Truth" and get more informed on this subject if you really think it's not happening.

Scientfic research shows that CO2 levels will rise at a off the charts level within the next 50 years. You can't just take a plant or animal and place it from climate to climate, it takes hundreds and hundreds of years for them to properly adapt...

  7. You mean like they did during the ice age?

I am sure there would still be some life left, but it probably wouldn't be pretty.

  8. We can only adapt to so much heat, if we cant move to space it will just get too hot. The dinosaurs didn't adapt very well either by the way, all living things go extinct eventually, including us.

  9. but i thought evolution was a scam?? how will they adapt? BTW they can only adapt slowly. as in over thousands of years not decades.

  10. Hahahah yeah....it will be very unlikley in that amount of time...alot of species of animals are going extinct every day!

  11. Because some plants and animals can't live at that temperture

  12. Unless polar bears suddenly adapt and grow fins, I don't think we'll be seeing them in another 10 years.

  13. Species are going extinct at a rate of 3 per hour according to last year's report by the World Wildlife Federation.  That's faster than in any of the (previous) mass extinctions.  How fast do you need them to die?  Biodiversity scientists say we have entered the seventh mass extinction in the planet's history.  How can you possibly say that it's just part of the earth and sun's natural cycles, and everything is peachy keen?  The other six mass extinctions were not part of any natural cycle.  So why is this one?

    edit

Turing, actually that was the conventional wisdom until recently.  Studies done at Stanford and in Sweden show that under some conditions plants grow well with higher CO2.  With other plants or other conditions you get stunted growth, with more but deformed leaves, and drastically shortened lifespans.   The finding surprised the heck our of the scientists doing the experiments.  By "other conditions" they meant varying levels of humidity, nitrogen and other things falling within the normal range of the environment we have now.

I posted a link yesterday for Liss when she said the same thing.  I'll try to dig it up again.

  14. Global warming is already killing animals like polar bears because all the ice is melting.

  15. Ask Al Gore he seems to know. That is, if you can catch him riding in his jumbo jets.

  16. not quickly!!!!

  17. How can the animals adapt when we can't even adapt to composting and recycling. it can take a very long time to adapt to a drastic change in their homes.

  18. Global warming is real and it's up to everyone one to stop it, But mankind is to selfish and we shall all bow to an instinction,

  19. Do you really think that a most recent, dominant species will have the ability to single-handedly change the Earth's atmosphere? Earth will go on, with or without our consent, period.

  20. And evolving. I always thought that if the poles melted humans would evolve into fish people! :D

  21. Plants LOVE CO2. That's why AGW is such nonsense. When there's more CO2 in the air, plants grow bigger faster. Put a block of dry ice in a greenhouse and see for yourself.

  22. These alarmist claim polar bears are dying but in fact they are doing quite well.  These people talk about species dying every day but they could not name a single one.  The species that are dying are obscure theoretical species that are generally varieties of insects.  Species evolve and go extinct all the time.  Perhaps humans have sped that up but I doubt that any warming has anything to do with it.  An animal doesn't need to adapt much to global warming because it involves a degree or two.  Generally they do better in warmth.  The left likes to focus on the Arctic but you will never hear them talk about the Caribou that would obviously do better with fewer babies dying and more food and longer periods where plants do better.   They are consistent.  They always grossly exaggerate the bad consequences and ignore the benefits.
