Alternative fuel research is a top priority, but if there were someone who would discover this alternative method wouldn't it be stamped out by "Big Oil?" Don't the major oils companies have enough influence to say, "we're going to lose too much money on this, don't produce it yet to the government?" What do you think? Is there an answer, but it is just being held up by poitics?

  1. ...did you just wake up in this world today?

  2. they probably wouldnt try to get rid of it, just take over production of it from small companies. though, this wont happen until a good alternative fuel comes along.

  3. No, they will probably be the ones that develop and produce any viable alternative fuel.

  4. Not necessarily.  Alternative technologies are very popular right now, so it would probably be much more profitable to develop them than to accept a one-time payout from the oil companies.

We're seeing this in the resurgence of the electric vehicle market, in fact.

  5. As long as you have an oil tycoon as the president, you sure as heck arent going to find any substitutes for oil.

  6. there are many alternatives to fuel on the market and it is our job as consumers to suport clean energy consumption.

  7. Are you at all capable of thinking for yourself? Don't you think if there was an alternative fuel, the huge energy corporations would buy into it and make more money? Do you think there is some sort of law telling oil companies they are only allowed to make money on oil? Study capitalism a little bit to see how the real world works. Take a look at how high levels of taxation on business is actually making the oil problem worse. And we all know who loves high levels of taxation, now don't we?
