  1. no, due to the moon's gravitational pull, currents, fish, other small animals, wind, and other natural things, lakes will never be as still as a pool.

  2. wind

  3. hey the wind moves the surface of all waters, even moving river water is affected by wind, it's not just boats. they just add to it, but, winds and storms create huge waves on oceans and big lakes I was on a little lake bass fishing once and there were six foot waves going by under our boat.

  4. Wind will create waves on both a lake and a pool.  The pool doesn't have as much surface area, though, so it may seem more calm.  A lake could be getting wind in just one spot, and eventually, the lake could be covered in waves.

  5. No. The moon exerts a gravitational pull.

  6. Water circulated long before there was ever wake from boats. There are all kinds of natural occurrences that circulate water: wind, rain, beings living in the water, tide.

    Water doesn't need us.

  7. Wind will still make it move.

  8. Yes, wake makes water move ... but so do wind, the tides (yes, even small ponds have 'tides' even though they are tiny).  Even swimming pools that are not hooked up to a circulator, or small ponds still 'move' ... even the ones that look 'flat' on top may have tiny movements under that smoothness.
