  1. have you run an disk cleanup or anti-spy yet not just anti virus sometime anti-spy will pick up things that anti virus doesn't some spy ware will redirect programs and that make it harder for your computer to get to the web site you want basically making it run slower.and if you have done that before you reformat your hard drive try system restore go to all programs then to accessories then to system tools there u will see system restore and pick a point a month or so back or when your computer was running good. this will delete any new software or photos you have uploaded since the point you pick so be careful .also it depends on hard drive space but if you have alot of mp3 or videos or pics  or a combo of all this will take up alot of space and could make your computer run slower good luck

  2. hmm... unbelievable, disk defragmenter should speed up the PC by defragmenting the fragmented files (fragmented files are like torn pieces of paper lying here and there and computer is going and picking each paper and has to read/write on them, very slow). Try running CHKDSK by right clicking the drive where the windows is installed and selecting properties then click on tools tab button and then click on 'Check for Errors Now', tickmark both the checkboxes and then restart the computer. Then DONT skip the Test when PC boots up, it will take 15-45 mins depending on your computer's hardware configuration.

May be this will speed up your PC, if not then goto http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000-21... and click on 'Download Now', install the CCleaner software(this will fix up registry problems) and run a Deep Scan. After scanning it will tell you the how many problems your computer have, click on repair, then your computer is now fixed! and speed will boost amazingly after repairing!

I hope above steps are very easy. I have assumed that your computer do not have any viruses.

  3. Okay, try uninstalling all useless or rarely used programs. Either through the Start ---> Control Panel ---> Add or Remove Programs or through the Start directly.

If this doesn't work then you have to format your computer. Formatting is when you delete all the information of your computer. It helps because it'll be like a brand new computer. There are many questions on how to format. Just search.
