Even though all internet stuff works on my wii, I can't connect with others to play together online.

Question

Whenever I try to register my friend's wii number on my wii, it says the wii number is incorrect even though it's correct. All the other online features work, like the wii shop channel, news channel, and weather channel. My wii is wirelessly connected to the internet with a MR814v2 netgear router. Do I have to do something with the router to make online play possible for the wii?

wait, i don't understand. have you tried to play an online game on the wii? or you just can't register your friends wii console # on your wii.

because other than that you should be able to play online games.
