Even with extended hospitalization insurance I'm still owing $2,000. with my other bills, I'm drowning in debt

I'm on Disabilty and it looks like I have to back to the hospital for surgery. one thing i do now is that i can't really count on my extra insurance, just OHIP (provincial). i could just scream

It is so horrible that an illness can put us into such debt. I think it is morally and ethically wrong that hospitals and insurance companies make such large profits off people's misfortune. Good luck and I'll keep you in my prayers!

Sorry about the luck you are having with your health. I have been there. Good and bad is the collectors will not give up. If you do start to pay keep a record and do not let the collectors try to collect from more than one source ex: the hospital wants to be paid for the anesthesiologist and then the drs office tries to collect then the collection agency for the same debt. Once you get better deal with only the people you owe. I know it is hard. If the collection agency says it has been turned over o them, give them the name of the person you are making payments to. If they ask for 50.00 a month and you can only afford 30.00 do not let them trick you into 40.00
