Event in Sydney?

I'm going on holiday to Sydney, Australia in August. Does anybody know of any events thats going on in Sydney or Gosford round that time?

Although its off season you will find many traditional Australian events going on. Non tourist but good local cultural stuff. When you get there call into your local tourist office for the pick of the crop!

in Sydney there will be the City to Surf Marathon being held. This is an annual marathon run over 14 kms and an extreme race too. Usually held around Sunday 10th or 17th.

I can't seem to find a lot of things happening in August in Gosford.

Gosford  in July celebrates NAIDOC Week, and World Youth Day.

In September its the 6th Annual Kincumber Community Festival and the Peninsula Village 4th Annual Art & Craft Exhibition.

There's something happening at the Laycock St Theatre, Nth Gosford, on 1-22nd August; and on the 24th August.

Something is also happening at the Peninsula Theatre @ Woy Woy on the 22nd August.

The Art Gallery usually has some activities on, although you may need to book ahead if you are interested in joining in. The libraries might be a good places to see, located at Gosford, Erina, Kincumber, Niagara, Umina Beach, Woy Woy and Wyoming. You need to contact them to find out about the days that they are open and the hours as these vary from library to library.

Sydney has always got something going on. Just 'google' - "sydney events 2008" and a whole array of stuff will pop up on your screen.
