Eventers: Anyone been to the Virgina Horse Trials?

Question

I'm interested in doing the College Team Challenge but want to know more about the event before I travel 6 hours to get there. How is the footing? How well is the whole thing set up? Anyone know the how much the fees are? I wish I had an omnibus for the area, but I don't :(

i rode in the Virginia Horse Trials last year. my mom paid the fees so I'm not sure how much it is, i just did dressage and stadium jumping. but i did watch the horses on the cross country course. it looked good, the footing was solid. here is the link to the media company who films the people on the cross country course
