Watching the Olympics Eventing Dressage made me more curious than ever about Eventing dressage. I know the level of difficulty in the dressage phase increases with the level of eventing, but where exactly do the dressage tests of a eventing add up to in terms of USDF dressage test levels?

Thanks!

  1. eventing of course doesnt have piaffes and canter pirrouettes etc because hat takes way more time and schooling so its only seen in GP and prix st george dressage but eventing is similar to level 3 dressage

  2. They actually use a very complicated formula to work this out (to make the scores compatible with all three phases) that most people don't understand, myself included. Ultimately, the dressage tests of eventing should add up to the Grand Prix (plus) level, which is why it's the Olympics. I'm not trying to sound smart-alecky or anything. I just can't think of another way to phrase it at the moment.

ADD: Individual dressage is Grand Prix - I'm actually watching it right now. That's all I usually watch during the Olympics. I think the other two posters have it for Eventing Dressage.

  3. In eventing the level of difficultly in the dressage phase is not as high as competitive dressage is. The FEI Advanced level tests are actually the equivelant to the USDF's Third Level Dressage tests.
