Events for Alpha Kappa Alpha in Japan?

I am NOT a member. I understand that graduate chapter is by invitation only. However, I would like to volunteer with various community service programs if in fact there are any.

Does anyone know? It would be such a great help to meet other young ladies since i'm new to Japan.

I was in Japan about 4 years ago (I am a member) and would have loved having a chapter in the Tokyo area! There now is!  Where are you?

I would suggest contacting the Tamiouchos to ask about events. Most chapters are not active during the summer, and since this is our Centennial year most members are busily preparing for their pilgrimage to DC. Please, do not be offended if they do not contact you immediately because of this special event (our National Meeting) is next month (Or this month since it is already July in Nippon)!

I hope you connect with some of the ladies from this chapter.
