I enjoy the classic styles.

Anyone with some ideas for a good read?

I'm into philosophy, utopian (and the negative, of course) literature

Anything...old..but new to me. :]

Suggestions are wonderful.

  1. you might try victoria holt. she also writes as jean plaidy and phillipa carr.

  2. I'm a pretty big fan of old school gothic fiction. If you want to go with the originals, I recommend:

The Castle of Otranto by Walpole

    The Monk by Matthew Lewis

    Anything by Anne Radcliffe

    Glenarvon by Caroline Lamb

Some later authors that I loved are Victoria Holt and Daphne Du Maurier.

My favorite gothic novel of all time is Dragonwyck by Anya Seton. I've reread it perpetually since I was about 12. And lucky us, it's back in print!
