  2. I haven't done a cruise alone, but I wouldn't be against it either.  I nearly did it once but then had sceduling conflicts and ended up not being able to go.  Because of the cost issue of doing a cruise alone (you basically have to pay for the entire cabin yourself) and so many people traveling alone nowadays - there are some places that will work with you.  Check out:

Some cruise lines will match up singles in a roommate program (at least they used to - not sure if they still do) and so you don't get stuck paying double.  Hunt around before you book with a single suppliment - there are options.

    Hopefully these will help you.

As far as being alone a cruise - you would be fine.  You can do alone things, or you can do 'mixer' things.  People tend to be super friendly and on a good mood when on vacation and you'll make friends in no time.  You'll meet people just standing in line.

  3. NO I have never done that because back when I wanted to I found out that you have to pay a "single supplement" which is basically a double fare.  So if the regular price for one person is $800. you have to pay about $1500 to $1600 to go alone.

But on the other hand, I have been on many cruises and have seen and met people who are cruising alone for various reasons.  On our last cruise a few months ago we met several people who were cruising alone because they were in your same situation; no one to go with them.  In one case we met a man who had planned to cruise with his wife but she got sick and so he did the cruise by himself.  When you cruise alone you are not really alone because you sit for dinner each evening with people whom you get to know, you meet people on tours and around the ship, and the ships typically have a meet & greet for single cruisers.

Since you are just turning age 21 you can go on any cruise line alone except Carnival.  All of the cruise lines have a minimum age requirement for each cabin and while it 21 for all others it age 25 or older for Carnival.

So go for it.  Just book the cheapest cabin on ship so that your single supplement will not be too much.
