yep, at christmas time, the basket had the fewest peple so thats where i went.

i got quite a few comments but then more people joined behind me with there tolleys, so us trolley people won in the end.

Yeah, I did that. I have this face I pull though, which makes me look like I might have (violent) special needs. It's the same one I use for queue-jumping. It works.

But didn't the person serving you point out that you have a very full trolley and redirect you to another queue?  That's what they do at my local Sainsburys.  They do not stand for any nonsense!  I have tried to convince them that I am foreign and don't understand English, but that doesn't work either. (I'm not foreign, but I can try).  But I have observed people saying to the customer in front of them 'Sorry, this is for 8 items or less, I see you have 9 items' etc.  Frankly, can't give a monkeys.  There are far worse things (for example, in many countries, empty shelves ... nothing available to buy).  We should all give thanks that we have anything to eat at all.

No - The supermarkets where I am just refuse to serve anyone with a trolley if it's baskets only.
