I'm really curious about this area...particularly the area near Gilford Road and Gilford Drive.

Please tell me anything and everything you know about it. What kinds of people live there, general atmosphere, what the nearby attractions are like, dining, shopping, etc.

Thanks...I appreciate your help!

  1. no

  2. nice area nice and friendly people good atmosphere

  3. It's a nice place, as everyone here has said, expensive enough area of Dublin so nice houses and all... Gilford Road is near Sandymount Strand - a beach but you wouldn't really be swimming or bathing at it and also it's pretty close to the DART (light rail train - like a metro) station so you can get into the city centre and back again pretty easily, it's only 3 or 4 stops to the Pearse Street or Tara Street stations (south city centre) or 5 to Connolly Street (north city centre).

I'm not sure that there's that much to see or do in the Sandymount itself but you're near the Merrion Shopping Centre it's1 stop south bound then you walk up the road to the right of that DART station (about 5 mins) but to be honest someone could probably walk it from Sandymount anyway...

    Hope this helps!

  4. Sandymount is a nice area, by the sea, it still has a good village athmosphere and is not so far from the city centre. I would recommend it as a good place to live or stay for a visit.
