Question:

Ever done a comp trip to Grand Biloxi casino?

We received a flyer in the mail for a comp trip to the Grand in Biloxi. The trip includes airfare, transportation to and from the airport, and hotel accommodations at the casino for Fri-Sun. Since I have heard that this is a very small casino, is there any type of penalty if we leave and spend most of our time at, say, Hard Rock? Would this be frowned upon by the Grand?

  1. You might never get a comp from the Grand again but that is about it.

My last trip to Vegas the Venetian comped me but I didn't gamble at all because I had some friends with me and one was underage and not allowed on the floor. Nothing happened. I can still get comps even but if I did it a couple of times they would probably stop giving me free stuff.

Now if you accept the comp and don't even check into the hotel then they will charge you for the room. You don't have to gamble. You don't have to spend time in the Grand. But you do have to actually show up.

  2. Casinos give out comps under the assumption that you will spend a specific amount of time at their casino, and thus they will win more money off of you than they are giving out. But under no circumstances are you in any was obligated to spend your time or money at their casino after you've been comped. It is perfectly fine to go somewhere else and play, just do not expect to be comped as much in the future if you are not spending a significant amount of time playing in their casino. Of course, if you're spending a lot of time (and money) gambling at Hard Rock, they may be the ones sending you the offers for free trips in the future.

    Good luck and have fun.

  3. Must,  have been very recent, the grand wasn't reopened as of new years.  I have been comped to both the grand and the beau.  didn't get a penalty for going anywhere else.  Right now the beau has hard rock beat hands down, (they are next to each other by the way). I say this because I am more of a poker player, the grand was the place prior to the hurricane, all of their dealers are at the beau at least as of new years.
