Ever done an impulsive random act of kindness and wandered why?

I was at the premiere of The Dutchess (w8ing for Kiera Knightly) and I suddenly decide that since I have a gr8 photo to get her autograph on, I should give my backup copy (arguably less good) too someone else. And as my mind is thinking "should I?" I turn to the guy on my left and say "dude you got a photo?" he says "No" I say "want one?" and he says "Yes please" in a suspicious tone. So I give it to him. He doesn't even thank me untill afterwards when he gets it signed.

Now afterwards I tried to figure out why I did it. Photo cost me £5 and I had it with me in the last 2 premieres but had never got it signed and I as happy it "fulfilled its destiny" and I'm a big fan of random acts of weird kindness or just weirdness.

Am I crazy?

  1. No not crazy... you're a kind hearted guy!

There are probably studies on how endorphinins or some other kind of chemical are released when you do something genuinely nice for someone else...without any selfish benefit attached. It's a natural high and part of our nature.

Unfortunately we have been conditioned that you should always be "networking"...always looking at people as how they can be a future benefit to you, instead of just being nice, thoughtful people as we were created to be.

Keep on being Random!! God Bless!
