Ever feel like you were born in the wrong time period?

I belong in medieval times, when the villages were surrounded by forests and fields and the fight for survival was just that.

I can't get comfortable in this world of technology and money and big business and materialism. I just don't belong here.

Is there a name for this? Can it really happen?

  1. Yeah sure you belong in medieval times and to prove it you are telling everybody in the known world about it via the internet.

So what appeals to you the most about living in medieval times, having no toilet paper, having lice, dieing from a simple infection, eating swans and thrushes, not eating potatoes and tomatoes, going to church and listening to some dude chant in Latin which you didn't understand, giving birth to 15 children 14 of which died in infancy, living in a smokey hovel right next to a sheep?

Edit: Sorry if my realism offends you.

If you wish to live that what is stopping you? Perhaps you really will find that you enjoy coughing in your windowless hovel that has no chimney.

Edit again: Well Sunny, perhaps I am ignorant and self centered, they are after all common human failings.

Please notice that this question is in fact in the Science and Mathematics > Alternate section.

There has never been any scientific proof that reincarnation is    real, until proof can be established the only place the idea is valid is in your imagination.

  2. yes

  3. Hi! The answer is to write down all your 'experiences' and then to contact a Psychic medium/ hypnotist to help you fathem out why you feel the way you do. log on to the 'Colin Fry' website. once there you can email him to ask his advice.

    good luck

  4. I think it's just called romanticism. A lot of people feel like you, which is why we have all these medieval & renaissance fairs around. In order to turn a profit, however, these fairs have to leave out some key aspects of life in medieval times for the common person -- plague, pestilence, hunger, filth, death, illness, suffering, etc. For some reason that's not as popular as colorful costumes and roast turkey legs.

  5. Lets turn this around a bit. Those people who feel they were born in the wrong time period. That's not what they are feeling. They are feeling emotions and abilities from previous lives. Many people demonstrate abilities and talents learned from a previous life and don"t realize it.I am good with a bow and arrow, spear and throwing a rock.Sound like a previous American Indian life.

  6. Sophia, are you just not in good  mood now?

  7. thats call denial and wishful thinking..coupled together. wake up!  it can't happen in reality but in dreams, for sure.

  8. 3,001   would be a great time to be alive

  9. LEVITICU you're not real you don't even have no clue what is real you are ignorant and self centered you should try to understand that this is paranormal section no  offense and about question yes since i new i was i knew i was diff we all have purpose mine is yet to come your exp must be something from one of your past lives

  10. Sometimes when I get fed up with the hustle and bustle of today's world I do feel like I would have been more comfortable in another time period.  Then I reflect on the things available to me now that weren't back then that I'm taking for granted and it puts things in a different perspective.  So, if you were plopped into Medieval times you must realize that because infant mortality was so high and life expectancy so low, chances are you wouldn't live past the age of 30.  And in that short life you would have no running water, no medicine, no sanitation and no regular or diverse food source.

Chances are if you were plopped into that time period without growing up in it, it wouldn't take you long to realize you really were meant for the 21st century.  If you really want to struggle for your survival you could move to one of many under-developed nations currently in existence.

The fact that you have access to a computer and are literate means you are reaping the benefit of the suffering of those who came before you to bring you a better life.

  11. Yes. I am, by birth, a gunslinger. I could never figure out what i was good at...Until i picked up a revolver. I can shoot. But i do not like to hunt. Im tired of these farmer johns being liek..."yall look ey shot me a deer at 50 meters" While i can shoot a man in the head at 300meters easily. I am only comfortable with a gun. BUt i am a good guy, not a killer. So i wish i was born in the wild west, were everone had a gun at their hip and we had our constitutional rights!!! Either that or a post apoctolyptic future.

  12. Sophia, the only name I can give in answer to your question on what to name it is..... life.

But, that in itself is a HUUUUUGGGGE word.  Have you ever read any Neale Donald Walsch books?  I believe that in the book HOME WITH GOD (it is not a religious book), it explains what you are going through.  But just so as not to bore skeptics and others (BTW I am a scientist) who don't want to keep an open mind I will refrain from going into detail, but will tell a short story instead.

I have a dream that comes to me every so often.  I am the same person, living in the same era, but obviously, snippets of that life come to me from various times in that person's life.  I am a slave girl and in one horrific scene I am raped before I am offered up for sale in a general marketplace.  I don't know exactly which year in history it is, nor do I know which country I am in.  Quite simply, I don't think I am a very intelligent human being in that life, but I know my instincts for survival are different from what they are in THIS life.

If you read Walsch's stuff, you will get an understanding that life is not linear and that time does not exist and that many lives can be lived simultaneously as we are not always 100% present in this lifetime.  I believe that you are experiencing residual energies from another life you are living and that whilst that other life might be more survival oriented, it is at odds with what you are experiencing in this reality (which is the realm of the relative)...  You therefore do not feel comfortable with technology/money, blah blah blah.

Because who you are is about BEING the grandest version of the greatest vision you ever have had of yourself, the best way to live is to live in the present as best as you can.

If technology bugs you, then move away from it and into your comfort zone.  Honour the spirit of WHO you are.  The world of capitalism bugged me too, the greed, the back-stabbing etc.  I chose to move away from it and surround myself with people of loving minds and open hearts and I now live near rainforests, beaches and mountains.  I live humbly and help as many people as I can, I do service to myself by doing that.  And I don't complain about the rest of the world, I do something about anything that I could start to complain about... and in my little neck of the woods.

Stay focused on living right now, but live it how you want to live it and forget about complaining, accept your lot or change it.  Listen only to yourself and those with positive guidance.  Harbour no anger, just let it slide.  Choose happy, choose motivated and choose to live NOW, this second.

  13. Maybe you should try simplifying your life, living in a quieter town .. I'm not sure I've never really felt it to that extent.

  14. You belong in this time because it is when you have been born.

What you have is a fantasy about the old days being better....it wasn't. You'd have to deal with rape, murder, religious oppression and being acused of witchcraft etc. We are generally quite privileged now.

Your feelings of alienation from the modern world aren't uncommon and ironically are a symptom of the technological age. You have enough time to think about no belonging here.

You should try regression therapy. The soul should adapt to it's new environment with ease. Perhaps you have something to resolve from a past life.

You have to look inside yourself and ask if you blame your dislike of modern times on technology when really you should be seeking a more natural environment.

  15. Yes.

  16. ya i do all the time. Money n fame and all are no motivation for me.

I dont know y ppl run after it. Did u find a solution for it? Please let me know.

  17. I wish I were able to fight in WWII or the Vietnam War,

If I were born at the right time I could fight in both.

Not to mention so many great things happened before 2000,

nothing spectacular, like a great new invention, has come out in a while since the iPod.

Plus I'd like to have been born before The Simpsons and Seinfeld Started so I could associate more with the shows and be part of the cool things The Simpsons have done.

Like the competitions and products that are cool.

  18. I often think the same thing. If I could chose a time and place it would be 1600's in England or France. My creativity would have meant more back then and who knows, I might have been famous.

Not just that but living by honor instead of law is much more appealing in my opinion. Choosing a wife in the classic "Pride and Prejudice" and "Anne Hathway" style would have been very cool IMO.

Either that or I would have chosen to be a Templar Knight (Militia Templi) around 1200 AD.

  19. i know wat u mean,i've always felt that i should have been a teengager in the 60's not now!
