  1. Yes even this "granny" can make The Clapper work.  Unfortunately, my dog could also make it work so when she barked at someone at the door we were treated to a lightshow.  Needless to say, we're not using it anymore.

  2. I wish I could say, "Yes, I've had a good experience with a product 'as advertised on t.v.'," but I would be lying.

In my experience, products ordered on the t.v. are misrepresented as being heavier-duty than they really are. When they arrive, they are always a disappointment because they are flimsy. Usually, they are not as easy to use as the expert who  demonstrated their use on t.v. and when you go to get your money back, you are forced to leap through all kinds of inconvenient hoops, despite the money-back guarantee they promise in the advertisements.

It's best to buy things either in person or from suppliers you trust.

(On the other hand, I've ordered plenty of things on E-bay and a variety of websites with no problems and often been extremely happy with my purchases.)

  3. Quick and Brite cleaner (the "pink stuff") works really well. I never see it in stores, just on TV and at RV shows.

  4. That orange clean stuff works good. The commercial where the guy yells at you ;)  But, I think over half of it is junk

  5. The Oven Glove works really well.

The Pocket Fisherman is good for catching small fish in ponds.

Betty Crocker Non Stick Oven Liner works very well.

The Clapper - something even your granny can make work, works.

  6. Originally commercials on TV were used to make the public know that certain products were available.  After awhile commercials were used to help sell products that were having trouble in their sells.  Even celebrities are still used to promote sagging sells and convince consumers it's worth it.

Nowadays alot products being sold are much like the western day charlatans selling elixirs.  I personally believe a small percentage really works.  Alot of commercial sells pitches are done to make a quick or easy buck, without consideration for quality product.  It's been said that 'If it sounds or looks too good to be true, it usually is.'  The problem today is...people make the mistake in believing that just cause something is new...it's better or ok.  Not so.

For example, there was once a TV show on Sci Fi Channel called 'Beyond 2000'; in it they told how music cd's were not better than record albums, when it came to out put of sound.

That cause record albums has a groove in the shape of a V, that there are two sides on sound on it, whereas laser has only one.  The findings showed that laser only puts out 50% of sound, than record albums that have the full 100%.  By the time the music industry realized they made a mistake, all the record producing equipment had already been disgarded.

So, even though compact disc is more convenient and such, it does have its drawbacks.  So, you're correct to not believe most of the products being shoved out at you work.
