Living in a romote rural area does have its drawbacks, especially when it comes to Fedex Ground delivering packages addressed to these areas. Every time Fedex G has a package for us, they call and tell us that they don't have to deliver the package to our home, and that we have to meet them at the highway or they will drop off the package somewhere in town. And, every time I call the main Fedex 800 # and talk with someone higher up, and the package finally gets delivered to my door. I have filled-out a complaint form with the Better Business Bureau, and am waiting for their response.
We never have a problem with DHL, Airborne, or UPS delivering to our home. The Fedex G drivers keep saying its because the local terminal who contracts the deliveries doesn't want to go thru "Bump Gates" (gates that the vehicle bumps with the front fender, gate swings open, and vehicle goes thru; they can also be manually opened, and propped open with a stick or long, sturdy object).
