Ever hear this great safety tip? Use Panic Button on car door lock key pad to call for help inside your home?

I thought this was such a great idea, I just had to share it. You know how most remote car door key pads have a "Panic Button." Most people get at least two remotes. Besides putting one on your key chain, keep one at the bedside or even on a chain around your neck. Then if you ever feel threatened or are in a situation where you can't reach a phone, you punch the panic button setting off the car alarm, which should scare away an intruder and/or get someone to come investigate.

Most car remotes reach quite a few feet away from the car, but test it in your house to make sure it works for you. If so, pretty cool, huh?

  1. Car alarms going off are such a common thing anymore that people tend to ignore them.  I doubt that anyone would even think about checking inside your house if the car started making noise.

  2. yeah, in my neighborhood, people wouldn't even bother to look in the direction of the alarm. h**l, gunshots don't even scare anyone anymore.

  3. I use it to freak out the kids that play around my vehicles and once it done they run for the hills, pretty funny...

  4. I tried this from my home and it does work even through aluminum siding. in most cases a horn going off at night will at least cause people to wonder, where during the day you hear them all the time without a second thought.
