Question:

Ever heard of a Judge denying a Divorce?

I'm just curious, my "husband" ran out and out of anger to put me in my place filed for a Divorce. He put in the papers that we were Married May22, and separated May24!!

Embarrassing enough, we did separate June 13 of the same year. I did sign immediately and ignored his nonsense.

Do Judges really ever read the Divorce papers? Is it possible that due to the "2" day marriage he or she would deny it? Can they do that legally?

  1. No, but why dont you use that to your advantage and get an anullment instead of a divorce.  That is what I would do.  Consult your attorney, it may grounds for you to get an anullment

  2. A judge can stay a divorce for up to 30 days if he feels there is a chance of reconciliation.

After 30 days the divorce goes through if one of the spouses still wants the divorce.
