Ever heard of the Bennu bird?

Question

I've just been looking through some information on fantasy and mythology, and i found something called the "bennu" bird. I know a little about it, but iw as just wondering if anyone else did, and if so, could you tell me what you know of it?

Yea. It's mentioned in the Egyptian book of the Dead. The greek equivalent is a phoenix.

It's really a heron I think. The bennu is a sun bird and flies to heliopolis.

No until you mentioned it.  Looks like it is an Egyptian bird equivelent of the Phoenix.  Interesteing read on Wikipedia.
