Ever heard this before?

Question

I read somewhere that if you go to a place of high altitude and scream with all of your force, your voice will in effect become permanently deeper (lower). When you scream in an a setting where the atmospheric pressure is lower, more damage is supposedly done to the vocal cords.

I heard Roc Hudson did this to make his voice deeper.

Hmmmmm.......that's interesting. I never heard of that, but it does seem interesting. I wonder what would happen if I tried that........
