Ever killed a pet/animal by mistake?

Have you ever killed a pet by mistake, and never forgave yourself?

i killed a baby parrot i had back in my country by mistake when i was little.. it use to like to sleep next to my belly idk y and one time i had it there n i fell to sleep =( the next morning it was dead.. i always felt so bad about it, even now that i am 17, that was probably when i was like 11 or so...

When I was 6 I was preparing moving into our new home my parents bought.

I always let my 2 gerbils my twin sister gave me for our birthday run around free for 1 hr every day in my play room.

When everything was moved into the new house, my parents said hurry up we are going now.

I rushed too much and stepped on my poor gerbil.He seemed fine until I took him upstairs cradled in my hands.....Suddenly he had a seizure & died w/blood drop coming out of his nose......I freaked and had a nervous break down.

My mother saw the whole seizure thing and understood why I freaked.She had too console me for 2hours until I calmed down.

I never told her I was the one who caused its death, I thought everyone would hate me.

I am 27 now and am so careful with any small creature.
