Question:

Ever live without a television at home?

My roomie moved out and took the television. I didn't bother to get a replacement immediately.

As the weeks went on, things started to get better. Found myself going out more, reading more and surprisingly lost weight since I was more active. If I want to watch a sports game I either head over to a friends place to watch it or go to a good sports bar or restaurant.

Also, with all the Internet access, I don't find myself "missing out" of anything much at all. Anyone with a similar experience?

  1. Yep, it's called being grounded :P

  2. interesting question. I lived without a tv for at least 2 yrs. and did not miss it. I have over a hundred chnnels and there's still nothing on. Radio has plenty of advantages. For one thing you don't have to watch it to understand what's happening. There's plenty of information on radio. Some stations are just news and some just sports. It's not only music.

  3. Yes. I've spent months at a time without television and I had a similar experience. I read more. I went out for walks. I spent more time in the library and walked along the waterfront which is beautiful. I rarely use my landline anymore either. The downside/upside? is I spend a lot more time on the internet. Even now with cable tv, it's only summer reruns so I rarely watch the tely.

  4. have both , but i would live without the tv before the computer !!  i would miss my contacts way too much...
