Seems any situation I've been in or know friends that were in the person perished. why? My child died, my husbands friend died, etc, they were motorcycle accident, pool drowning, chokings..heart issues at office.. All died... I know of no survival CPR stories and I advocate learning CPR. Today my step girl, 17yo to infant/child cpr class. I did however once save a child w/the Heimlich...that is all. I'm not convince CPR saves lives and I so want to help teach it...

  1. The best chance for survival occurs with CPR followed by use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) within 8 minutes of the collapse.  CPR alone will buy a person time but has a success rate of only 5-10% when used by itself in a cases of chronic illness or heart attack.
