  1. As an Australian who has never received a medical bill for anything in my 40 odd years of life , I watch with amazement the American Health System...

I crashed a motor bike and ended up in a wheelchair ..

10 operations , 6 mths in hospital , rehab , home modifications to make it wheelchair accessible and wheelchair...NO, I repeat ,no medical bills....

I don't have any idea how much this would cost in the US but i think my family would have been paying for the next 20 years

I also receive supported accommodation...Without this help I would be Dead , one way or another ,,

I have quality of life thanks to the Australian people who have elected who care about people .. not like Americans who seem to vote for people who say that you stand on your own two feet and don't care if some fall by the wayside..

I receive what is called in Australia " Disability Support Pension"

I pay about $4.50 for prescription Medicine no matter what the real cost..

Australia buys all medication in bulk and get discounts for doing this..

When USA / Aust were discussing a free trade agreement , the us congress wanted to take Australia to some committee

that was saying Australia was undercutting free enterprise by buying in bulk and wanted Australia to buy Medicine at full market price..

    Luckily Australia said no..

  2. Don't get brainwashed by his super liberal garbage movie until you've read up on the down side of Universal Health Care. Read up on both sides, then decide. Moore's movie is little more than propaganda.

  3. The United States can not afford Universal Health Care, they have oil to protect... ohhhh sorry, a war to fight...errrr.... Spreading the greatness of Democracy to countries run by CIA dictators... errr.. I mean, Evil Tyrants.. yeah.. that;'s it... Evil Tyrants with lots of scary weapons...

  4. Do you know what Universal health care would do.  It would bankrupt the country.  The lowlifes in this country would be in the emergency rooms on a daily basis knowing the government will pay.  The doctors and hospitals would love this because they would know they would get paid.  There would be NO REGULATION !!!!

California Workman Comp is proof of this.  A employee gets pist at his employer, he goes to the hospital complaining about a sore back and they roll out the red carpet, ordering test after tests.  And don't forget the lawyers they get their cut also.

Also its not the insurance companies who are the bad guys.  If they didn't have a guy in a cubicle 3000 miles away,  the doctors would be ordering expensive tests after expensive test just so they can make more money.  Its the doctors who are the scum bags.

  5. Michael Moore IS a sicko...fat, ugly, disgusting.  ugggh    So the title is fitting.

  6. Everyone I meet from France and Canada and Austrailia I ask about universal, single payer health insurance. I've never heard a single person say that they wanted to give up this system and go to a private insurance system like the US.

A large proportion of bankruptcies involve employees with health insurance who became ill, lost their job, and could not afford their escallating health insurance payments. Others who change jobs later in their careers will lose coverage for pre-existing conditions. Many families are just one major health problem away from bankuptcy and perhaps homelessness.

The proposals made by Republicans and Democrats protect greedy drug companies and insurance companies. A single-payer, universal health care plan in the US is "off the table." Just as our least favorite so-called liberal, Pelosi.

I urge you to vote for candidates who will stop the excessive gush of money in Iraq and begin to put the money into the health of its people. Neither Republicans nor Democrats have your interest at heart.

Vote for Ralph Nader and make you voice heard loud and clear. Universal Health (single payer) is his first issue. Stop voting for the lesser of two evils.
