Question:

Ever since getting married, I'm not controlling my eating habits at night. I'm gaining quickly! Advice?

I used to be so healthy! Good eating habits no longer exist AND my workouts have completely stopped. I'm not overweight, but I must be the most obese skinny person ever - at this rate, I'm bound for an early death.

I got married in August to the love of my life (all 20 sum years of it) and I'm a full time student. Any ideas on how to gain some will power? I've been giving in each and every time.

For example, I had 4 big soft tacos yesterday for supper and I'm about to eat my second big bowl of icecream today... not to mention chips I ate all of last week...

I've gained 6 pounds since my wedding... that was in August!

    Imbalance: Too much saturated fat increases the risk of heart disease while a lack of Omega-3 fats is linked to dyslexia, memory problems and depression.


  2. Try first of all, decreasing your cokes. Decrease slowly by possible a third of a can/bottle each 1-2week(s) until you have one can/small bottle or NO cokes at all. For eating four soft tacos-- we all have our bad days so try drinking AT LEAST two glasses (4cups) of water to fill you up so you aren't as hungry and eat one taco drinking water between bites and after you finish- wait about 10 mins and if you still feel hungry, eat another half of a taco and wait 10more mins, drinking water. If you are still hungry eat the other half and then put it down and tell yourself "Do you want to keep gaining weight JUST for a bite of another taco???" and hopefully the answer will be no. I've found it helpful to leave a few bites behind--uneaten (may sound silly but I got in the habit of eating smaller portions). Alot of times now, when I wake up, I'm thirsty for water and WATER ONLY but I know I'll be hungry later at school so I take a few bites of eggs and cheese. Also, eggs and sausage (homeade eggs and Cole's Little Sizzlers Sausage) are VERY filling. I was full and not hungry until lunch by only eating 1 1/2 sausage and about 3bites of a scrambled egg. Try not buying so many snacks so you have no choice whether you want a snack or not. Also, try getting a minty toothpaste and brushing your teeth after meals (food doesn't seem as appealing with toothpaste (: ).

    Try to do 5 pushups a day increasing by five every 2weeks. In the mornings, try working out 30mins before breakfast. Time will really fly by if you are in front of the TV with your fave morning show. Also, suck in your stomach to tone your muscles WHENEVER you are exercising-- make it a habit to all the time be holding your abs tight. Also, to build your back muscles, try sitting with good posture (I am trying-- still need some work but I often find myself sitting up straight, back far from the chair), try doing the same until your back gets sore and then rest your back for a few minutes--stretch, and then five more mins off and on throughout the day. Try not hunching in your chair, over your work. If you go to any school-- try getting a sturdy book or binder and holding it, your papers on top, and hold it to you and work with your back either straight on the chair or straight away from the chair.
