like what if in a billion years the earth dies and ends up looking like mars and then mars takes its place and flurishes?

No, I have never thought that way. I feel it's easier for me to believe that someday we will learn how to create a livable ecosystem on Mars and start colonizing that planet.

The other thing is to find away to break the light speed barrier. Once we do nothing will be able to hold us back from truly getting out there to explore our solar system and beyond.
