Everaard to take the winning streak to four in the HF Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen on 11th March
The Class 3 HF Handicap Hurdle which is open for participation by four-year and older thoroughbreds is to be held at Market Rasen over three miles. The race that is scheduled for Sunday, 11th March has the purse worth £4, 549 and has assembled
the lineup of nine contestants.
Decidedly, the most popular and promising entry on the lineup is Everaard, Lion Heart’s six-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Via Gras, is unbeaten through the three starts he has made during the new season and is going to give a hard time to the rest
of the lot today.
Everaard cracked into the new season on 1st January in the First Footer Handicap Hurdle at Musselburgh over three miles and half furlong. With Richie McGrath onboard, the winner was in lead of the track by a good nine lengths.
The runner up of the race turned out to be the 100/30 favourite, Vallani, who was soon followed by More Equity on the other end of the wire.
His next outing was on 13th January in the Country Refreshments Kilmany Cup Handicap Chase at Musselburgh over three miles. He was yet again coupled with Richie McGrath and this time he had to escape More Equity by a mere shoulder’s distance when
rushing for the wire.
Finishing third behind the winner was Kosta Brava. The 11/4 favourite of the race, Key Cutter, was positioned seventh on the lineup of ten runners.
His third race did not only prove him unbeaten but also entitled him to a seasonal hat trick. On 11th February, he won the John Smith’s Stayers Handicap Hurdle at Musselburgh over three miles and half furlong.
The charismatic chemistry of the horse and jockey, Richie McGrath, made a deep impact once more as the pair led the track of eleven. The victory by no means came effortless as towards the concluding stages, Everaard had to snatch victory from the vicious
jaws of defeat, Devotion To Duty, who was only at a neck’s difference.
The 11/4 favourite third position holder was Moonlight Drive.
Even though Everaard has been successful time and again, he has not been entered as a favourite in any of the races yet. However, now that he has a hat trick under his belt, he can be considered seriously for being sent as a favourite.
