Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League sign 11th pick in the draft Kevin Davis
Everett Silvertips, a team that plays in Western Hockey League (WHL) and based in Everett, Washington has signed a young Canadian prospect Kevin Davis in Everett on Thursday. The deal was done in a Western Hockey League Educational contract.
Davis was picked in the 1st round of the 2012 WHL Bantam draft which was held few months ago in May. He was picked 11th overall and became only the tenth player in the history of the Everett Silvertips organisation to be picked in the
first round.
Davis, who plays in the position of defenseman spent last season with Kamloops Jardine Blazers, which plays in the minor hockey league and had a great first season there even at the age of 14. He scored an amazing total of 46 points as he scored 15 goals
and 31 assists in just 49 games which is a huge total and magnificent performance from a Defenseman.
Davis was also named player of the tournament in Kamloops International Bantam Ice Hockey Tournament by scoring 3 goals, 1 assists and total of 4 points.
Garry Davidson, general manager of the Everett Silvertips is very happy and excited to sign and have Kevin Davis in their setup. According to him, Kamloops, British Columbia resident is an impressive player and has terrific potential and when he had the
chance to play with few of best players in the world at a camp by NHL players association he made it count, as Davidson said,
“We’re very excited that Kevin has committed to the WHL and to our program. He’s an impressive young player with terrific potential and upside, and it’s a big plus that he is a quality person off the ice as well.  He had the chance last month to join some
of the best players in his age group at a mentorship camp put on by the NHL Players’ Association, and by all reports he played very well there. 
He also told that they are looking forward to have him as signed player in the training camp as he said,
“We’re looking forward to having him in our training camp as a signed player in a few weeks.”
