Everglades Classic Cup Player Ratings: Lechuza 10 – Goose Creek 9
The semi-final fight of the Everglades Cup was held at the International Polo Club, where Lechuza edged past Goose Creek by one goal and set a place in the finals of the tournament.
The semi-final day saw some awesome performances which were quite unexpected in the hardly fought game. Goose Creek looked to establish upon their recent good performances, while Lechuza wanted to continue their best form of the season.
In a nail-biting semi-final, there were loads of standout performances from the two sides.
Lechuza
Gaston Lisioli: 9.0/10
The striker delivered all his experience in dealing with the threat of legendary defensemen of Goose Creek whose performance led them into the semi-final match. He used his pony well to get in between the ball and his stick. His five goals were best exhibition
from him in the six the chukka action. It seemed to be heading into the top corner but he managed his horse well to keep touch with the ball. He understood the opponent’s strategies brilliantly and rarely played a wide shot.
Toto Collardin: 7.0/10
It was another assured performance from Collardin who swept up for Lechuza in the competition. He scored only two goals, but was at his best in the ball possession and passing. He created numerous chances for his striking performer and played pivotal role
in the triumph. He stayed on quite alert in the entire game and made lengthy rides downwards and upwards onto the field.
Robert Orthwein: 7.5/10
He set the pace of the game for a brilliant opening with some fantabulous drives and impressive rides. His fast movements and executed stick-work made him prominent in the game. Thanks to his three goals which improved his ratings. He though missed some
chances in the second half, but overall his game was good.
Francisco di Agostino: 4.0/10
The youngster playing at number four position was not at his best and failed to shield his position well. He was botched miserably to make any sort of impact in the semis. During the game's timings, he roamed around the field, leaving his prescribed position
open for rival strikers.
Goose Creek
Martin Zegers: 8.0/10
It was a top class performance from Martin Zegers who lit the lamp five times in the crucial semi-final contest. He read the game excellently and continued his efforts until the last moments of the regulation time-period. He was at high tempo, but failed
to bring all his team-mates into the game. Except that lacking his show-off was error-free.
Jose Donoso: 6.0/10
Donoso demonstrated some mature interceptions and fruitful passes. He could not get himself involved as much as the front-man, Zegers. Some chances were missed from him in the game, but his two goals served a lot to creep the score closer and closer.
Mason Wroe: 6.0/10
He though opened the goal scoring of the day, but could only score two times in the six-frame of play. He missed numerous chances onto the field and failed to reduce the wide difference.
Maureen Brennan: 4.5/10
He played defensive game, but could not create much impact. He was neither impressive at the defence nor at the offence.
