Everton 2–0 Chelsea: Analysis – Jose Bosingwa and David Luiz

Chelsea’s poor run of form continued on the weekend as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-Stracqualursi-c10885 scored for the home side.
In part two of the analysis, Ivana Rocket analysis the outings made by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 and Jose Bosingwa.
David Luiz has all the makings of a great centre-back. And he may well go on to become one, too. But for that to happen he needs to work on his positioning. Against Everton, the Brazilian was too erratic at times. Gifted with an athletic
body, Luiz doesn’t let too many past him, but Stracqualursi outmuscled him on numerous occasions. Perhaps the Brazilian was not focusing enough.
Luiz will overcome his shortcomings soon enough. He has the greatest Chelsea defender of all time to mentor him. In Terry, he has the perfect guardian. Once he sorts out the positional issue, he would be ready to partner http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 national
team – and what a combination that would be.
Jose Bosingwa was taken all the way back to pre-school by the brilliant Steven Pienaar, who himself had a great game upon his return. Defensively a wreck and a non-present going forward, Bosingwa had a woeful outing.
Chelsea need much better than Bosingwa on the right if they are to challenge for the title. That being said, they are pretty much out of the title race. The Premier League title is a two-horse race between the two Manchester Clubs now.
Moving back to Bosingwa, the Portuguese simply doesn’t have the talent or the discipline to play Champions League football. Some might point out to the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s
tactical set-up and the dominance of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294 in the midfield. Did I forget Jose Mourinho?
Andre Villas-Boas would want to book a semi-final date at the least in the Champions League. Bosingwa needs to be an option from the bench and nothing more for that dream to materialise.

The former Porto tactician made some baffling substitution in the game against Everton; replacing Mata - the only bright spark in the Chelsea attack - with Lukaku was a decision jeered even by his own fans. Villas-Boas needs to come up with a solution to
these issues, and quick, or Chelsea risk losing out on Champions League football next season.
